Paving starts Aug. 30 on Hwy 2 and Hwy 9 east of Crookston
BEMIDJI, Minn. – Paving will begin Aug. 30 on U.S. Hwy 2 and State Hwy 9 as work progresses on the realignment and reconstruction of Highway 2 east of Crookston.
Motorists are reminded of a reduced speed limit of 50 miles per hour in the Hwy 2 work zone and watch for flagging operations on Hwy 9.
In addition, motorists are cautioned to watch for several areas of gravel on Hwy 2 near the Polk County Road 9 and Polk County Road 214 intersections.
The realignment and reconstruction of this portion of Hwy 2 will provide stability and strength for the underlying road bed and provide users with a safer, smoother ride.
The entire project is expected to be complete by the end of September.
