Highway 11 reopens temporarily from Baudette to Pelland

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Local traffic on Highway 11 between Baudette and Pelland will be able to travel through the construction zone from Aug. 18-22 as a full-closure is lifted temporarily.

From Aug. 23 – Sept. 2, another full-closure will be in effect and the detour around the closed area must be used. This is necessary as crews continue replacing culverts along Highway 11.

Except for local traffic, Mn/DOT reminds all others to use the detour. Eastbound traffic on Highway 11 is detoured to Highway 72 south of Baudette for 60 miles, then east on Highway 1 for five miles to Highway 71, then north on Highway 71 for 61 miles back to Highway 11 at Pelland. Westbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse.

The detour for all overweight and over width restricted traffic will remain in effect through September.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation as we work to improve the condition of this important corridor.
