Construction on Highway 32 and U.S. Highway 2 in Polk County begins June 1
BEMIDJI, Minn. – Motorists will encounter minor delays as a project to resurface a portion of Highway 32 north of Fertile and repair of shoulder sections on U.S. Highway 2 west of Erskine gets underway on Tuesday, June 1.
The mill and overlay project on Highway 32 will begin at the intersection with U.S. Highway 2 and extend south to Fertile.
Drivers will alternate use of a single traffic lane with traffic control provided by flaggers and a pilot car.
The shoulder repair work on U.S. Highway 2 will be at five locations on the eastbound lanes from the junction at Marcoux Corner east to Erskine. Speed will be reduced to 50 mph with a single lane closure.
The finished project will provide motorists with a smoother, safer ride.
The project is expected to be complete June 21.
Mn/DOT urges drivers to slow down, follow posted speed limits and avoid tailgating.
