Installation of median cable barrier underway on Hwy 2 in Bemidji
BEMIDJI, Minn – A project to install high tension cable barrier in median sections of U.S. Highway 2 in Bemidji began this week.
The median cable barrier will be installed in intermittent locations from the east junction with Highway 89 to the exit ramp of U.S. Highway 2 and Highway 71 south.
The protective barriers are being installed as safety measures in the event of a vehicle cross over crash between divided highways.
Motorists are cautioned to slow down and be alert to workers and equipment moving in and out of the highway median.
The cable barrier project is expected to be complete by Sept. 25, weather permitting.
