Hwy 32 construction from Fertile to Hwy 200 begins July 21
Motorists will be detoured
ST. PAUL, Minn. — Motorists will encounter detours on Hwy 32 between Hwy 200 west of Mahnomen and U.S. Hwy 2 at Marcoux as reconditioning on Hwy 32 gets underway beginning July 21.
Hwy 32 northbound traffic will be detoured on to Hwy 200 east to Mahnomen, then north on Hwy 59 to U.S. Hwy 2 and west to Hwy 32 at Marcoux. Southbound traffic will follow the same detour in reverse.
The 15.4-mile project extends from the Hwy 200 junction to just north of Fertile and includes culvert repairs and replacements, bituminous milling and reclamation, bypass lanes and paving. The project also includes the installation of truncated pedestrian domes along Hwy 32 in the city of Fertile. The domes are warning mats embedded into the concrete pavement that can be felt with feet or a cane and that meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements for the blind and low-vision pedestrians.
The project is expected to be complete by mid-September with the detours in effect until mid-August. When the detours are lifted, work will resume with safety precautions provided by flaggers and pilot cars.
Motorists in the city of Fertile are cautioned to be alert to lane closures, equipment and operators.
