BEMIDJI, Minn. - A detour to accommodate a reconditioning project on Highway 11 in Lake of the Woods and Koochiching counties will begin Tuesday, Sept. 2, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. The detour is expected to last until late-October. The reconditioning project on the 10.5-mile stretch of Highway 11 consists of widening the shoulders, replacing culverts, adding turn lanes and resurfacing the highway. Northbound traffic will be detoured at Frontier to Koochiching County Road 4 west, then north to Highway 11. Southbound traffic will use the same route in reverse. Motorists should be alert for detour signing and slow down when approaching or driving through a work zone. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be complete by mid-November. For information
