BEMIDJI, Minn. - A project to improve Highway 89 from north of Highway 11 in Roseau County to the Canadian border is underway beginning with the replacement of two culverts. Resurfacing of the 12.5 mile stretch of highway is expected to start Aug. 27.

Motorists can expect some intermittent delays with single lane closures. Lane width is restricted to eleven feet. Flagging operations will be in place along with a pilot car to guide travelers safely through the work zone.

The project is expected to be complete by Sept. 19, weather permitting.
