Traffic to be switched on Highway 34 in Park Rapids starting Aug. 6 - final phase of underground work begins on reconstruction project |

BEMIDJI, Minn. - The final phase of underground work on the north side of Highway 34 in Park Rapids is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Aug. 6, requiring two-way traffic to move from the westbound lanes to the eastbound lanes between Riverside Avenue and County Road 107. Traffic will be carried on two 12-foot lanes on the south half of Highway 34 during this phase. Motorists should be alert to slowing and turning traffic. This project is Phase 2 of the reconstruction of Highway 34 in the city of Park Rapids; Phase 1 was completed last year. Phase 2 is expected to be complete and fully open to traffic by mid- to late- October, weather permitting. For information
