Construction on Highway 223 in Clearwater County delayed for a week - detour required |

BEMIDJI, Minn. - A project to improve the condition and safety of Highway 223 from Highway 92 to Clearwater County Road 10 scheduled to start this week has been delayed and not expected to start until the week of June 23. During construction Highway 223 will be closed to through traffic. Traffic will be detoured on to Clearwater County Road 3, then east to Clearwater County Road 10 to the community of Leonard. The detour will be in place for several weeks with the remainder of the work done under traffic. The improvement project includes replacing some of the culvert pipes and repairing culvert aprons followed by a mill and overlay. Work is expected to be complete by July 18. Motorists
are reminded to drive with caution throughout the state as construction
