Bemidji, MN. --- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is asking motorists to be patient as construction gets underway to improve the safety and condition of State Highway 34 in Park Rapids.

A detour at the intersection of State Highways 34 and 71 in Park Rapids is in effect for approximately two weeks, routing traffic onto city streets to accommodate construction, however, access to all businesses in the area remain open. Truck traffic is being directed to alternate routes.

Drivers are cautioned to be extremely alert for directional changes when approaching the work zone and watch for flaggers and equipment.
