Bemidji, Mn. -In an effort to reduce traffic accidents on State Highway 87 in the area of the Crow Wing River and the Third Crow Wing Lake in Hubbard County, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) with concurrence from the Crow Wing Township Board, is extending a 40 mile per hour speed zone east of Hubbard County Road 13 to an additional 1.1 miles beyond the current 40 mile per hour posting.

Additionally, from Crowcrest Drive, the speed limit east for I mile will be reduced from 50 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour.

Motorists traveling in this area are advised to be alert for these posted changes.

Mn/DOT reminds all motorists to buckle up and drive with safety in mind at all times.
