Motorists cautioned to slow for construction on State Hwy. 71 north of Bemidji |

Bemidji, MN. - The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is cautioning motorists to slow down and be alert for construction that is currently underway in two areas of State Highway 71 north of Bemidji. In the first area, Mn/DOT is conducting a mill and overlay project beginning at the northern end of the four lane of State Hwy. 71 to Turtle River. Traffic is restricted for long and wide loads and drivers can expect some minor delays. This project is expected to be complete by October 6th. Also receiving a mill and overlay is that portion of State Highway 71 from the Itasca/Koochiching county line to one mile north of the north junction of State Highway 1. Traffic is restricted for long and wide loads and motorists can expect some minor delays. This project is expected to be complete by September 15th. For statewide
