Bemidji, Mn. -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is warning drivers to expect some traffic delays due to construction as work on State Highway 197 in the city of Bemidji gets underway on Monday, September 11th. According to Larry Randall, Mn/DOT Project Supervisor, the project is on the north side of Bemidji and extends from Hannah Avenue to Bemidji Avenue. Randall said the project involves sidewalk repair, curb and gutter repair and concrete entrance pavement repair which will require the closing of the right hand lanes for both east and west bound traffic during daylight hours. Requests for over width permits must be cleared through Larry Randall in the Mn/DOT Construction Office at 218-755-4529. The work is expected to be complete by September 22nd, weather permitting. For statewide
information on construction and other related road conditions,
call 5-1-1 or log on to Mn/DOT's website at www.511mn.org.
