Bemidji, MN. --- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) has begun preparations for the reconstruction of another portion of Trunk Highway 64 south of Akeley. According to Larry Randall, Mn/DOT Project Supervisor, "Trunk Highway 64 from the north junction with Trunk Highway 87 to Hubbard County Road 33 is scheduled for reconstruction this year which includes grading, paving, culvert replacements and shoulder widening." Last year, Mn/DOT reconstructed Trunk Highway 64 from the city of Akeley south to Hubbard County Road 33. Preliminary work for the start of the project began last week which includes clearing, grubbing and transplanting trees from this site to the site that was reconstructed last year. Randall said a detour will be put in place beginning June 1st with traffic being routed off of Highway 64 on to Trunk Highway 87 and Hubbard County State Aid Highway 13. Mn/DOT expects the reconstruction project to be complete by November 1st. For updated
