Bemidji, MN. --- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) in conjunction with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (Mn/DNR) is notifying the public that selective tree cutting along a portion of State Highway 200 through Itasca State Park is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 20th. According to Larry Randall, Mn/DOT Project Supervisor, the selective tree cutting, which is in state highway right-of-way, is being conducted to accommodate construction on Highway 200 scheduled for this summer. Randall said, "Traffic control methods will be in place during the tree cutting operation and motorists may encounter short delays in the area." Randall advises drivers to slow down and watch for loggers and equipment. The work is
expected to be complete in two to three weeks. |
