Bemidji, Mn. -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is notifying the public of a project to upgrade the Minnesota Northern Railroad crossing at 3rd Street on Trunk Highway 1 in Thief River Falls beginning Wednesday, October 5th.

The work involves the upgrading of signals, lights, gates, circuitry and a new housing cabinet. The new gates will be regular style, not cantilevered.

Traffic lanes will remain open during the work, and motorists are being asked to be alert for workers and equipment on the shoulder of the roadway adjacent to the crossing.

Mn/DOT anticipates the work to be complete by October 14th.
