Bemidji, MN. -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is notifying the public that the detour on Highway 1 from the junction with Highway 72 at Shooks to the east junction with Highway 71 in Beltrami and Koochiching counties has been removed today. The detour has been in place for the past three weeks to accommodate a bridge replacement on Highway 1. Mn/DOT Project Supervisor Larry Randall said, "Although the detour is off, construction continues." Randall said paving work is underway and will be completed on the project with the use of flag persons and a pilot car. He added, "Motorists can expect minimal delays from Busy Corner to the east junction with Highway 71 and on Highway 72 from Blackduck to Busy Corner." Overweight or over width permits are still restricted. Truck drivers are advised to call 218-766-1263 for real-time conditions. For updated road condition information in Minnesota, dial 511 or log on to www.511mn.org. See ORANGE.Work Zones. Pay Attention or Pay the Price. |
