Motorists cautioned to slow down in bridge painting work zones on Highway 2 bypass in Bemidji |

Bemidji, Mn. -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is asking motorists to slow down when traveling through the Highway 2 bypass in Bemidji during bridge painting operations. According to Todd Vonasek, Mn/DOT Resident Engineer in Bemidji, four bypass bridges over Highway 2 are currently being repainted and the Irvine Avenue bridge over Trunk Highway 71 north will also be painted as part of a contract with Rainbow Inc. of Minneapolis. Vonasek said
the work requires intermittent lane closures and advises motorists
to drive cautiously through the area. The work is expected to
be complete by June 15th, depending on weather conditions. For updated
