Resurfacing of Hwy. 2 from Hwy. 371 in Cass Lake to 7.6 miles east scheduled to start Monday, May 23rd |

Bemidji, Mn. -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will begin a resurfacing project on Highway 2 from the junction with Highway 371 in Cass Lake to 1.4 miles east of Cass County Highway 10. The total length of the project is 7.6 miles. Larry Randall, Senior Engineering Specialist in the Mn/DOT Bemidji office said, "The initial work beginning Monday will consist of building new turn lanes and bypass lanes. During this phase of the job, flag persons will be on site and motorists can expect some minor delays." Randall added, "The bituminous milling and paving operations will begin around June 15th. During this phase, flag persons and a pilot car will be utilized and drivers can expect up to 10 minute delays." Randall said all work is expected to be complete by mid-July. Mn/DOT advises
truckers that no over-width permits will be allowed through the
construction zone from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM. For real-time conditions
concerning over-width permits on this project only, truckers can
