Bemidji, MN.
-- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is alerting
the public about the continuation of a project to upgrade the
Canadian Pacific railroad crossing on U.S. Highway 2 at Erskine.
According
to Mike Kamnikar, an Engineer with Mn/DOT's Bemidji office, the
project to install new signals and gate arms at the railroad crossing
in Erskine was begun earlier this month and then delayed by Canadian
Pacific Railway due to the extreme weather and equipment problems.
Kamnikar said
the work will start around 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1st
and is expected to be complete by 5:00 p.m. the same day. Drivers
can expect delays of 5 - 10 minutes during the installation of
the gate arms and are being asked to slow down when entering the
work zone.
