Bemidji, MN.
-- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is advising
motorists that efforts are underway to reconstruct and rehabilitate
a portion of the east bound lanes of Trunk Highway 2 between Erskine
and Fosston in Polk County.
According
to Shawn Groven, Mn/DOT Project Engineer, " the work will
consist of culvert repair, turn lane construction, and bituminous
milling and surfacing."
Groven said
"traffic will be required to switch from the east bound lanes
to the west bound lanes with one lane of traffic in each direction
and speed reduced to 55 miles per hour." Groven anticipates
the traffic switch and reduced speed could be in effect by Thursday
of this week.
Groven stressed
the importance of drivers to pay close attention to signing instructions
and to be extremely alert for changing traffic movements.
The work is
expected to be complete by mid-September.
