Bemidji, Mn.
-- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is advising
the public that a resurfacing project on Trunk Highway 71 from
Blackduck north to the Itasca/Koochiching County line will begin
on Thursday, May 6th.
According
to Larry Randall, Mn/DOT Project Supervisor, the work will consist
of milling the highway pavement surface between the junctions
with Highway 72 in Blackduck north to just beyond the Itasca-Koochiching
County line. Randall said, "The wearing surface on the highway
will be two-inch bituminous with gravel placed on the shoulders."
He added, the work requires partial lane closures with flag persons
on site along with a pilot car to guide motorists through the
work zone and warned that drivers can expect some delays.
The work is
scheduled for completion by May 27th.
