Bemidji, MN.
-- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is cautioning
the public that beginning Saturday, March 6th, the right northbound
lane of Trunk Highway 197, also known as Paul Bunyan Drive, from
Cross Street to the Mississippi River bridge will be closed periodically
for the next several weeks. This area is on the southside of Lake
Bemidji.
According
to Jim Bittmann, Mn/DOT Project Engineer, the closure of this
lane will allow the contractor to move in his equipment and materials
to begin the topside work on shoreline stabilization as part of
the reconstruction of Highway 197 in that area.
Motorists
are asked to slow down and be cautious for merging traffic in
this area when lane closures are in effect.
