Construction to Replace Bridge at Pelan on Highway 11 Expected to Start Early Next Week, Detour Required

Bemidji, MN. --- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is advising the public that work to replace a bridge on Trunk Highway 11 at Pelan between Karlstad and Greenbush is expected to start as early as Monday, March 31st or Tuesday, April 1st.

According to J.T. Anderson, Mn/DOT's Resident Engineer in the Thief River Falls Construction office, the project is scheduled to be complete in late June. Anderson said, "a detour is required for the project and motorists are advised that the detour will be put in place at the start of the project."

The detour route is west of Greenbush on Roseau County Highway 4 to Kittson County Highway 10, which ties into Trunk Highway 59 at Lake Bronson.

As construction season starts in Minnesota, Mn/DOT reminds all drivers to slow down and obey all traffic signing instructions when approaching a construction zone.
