Bemidji, Mn. -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT)
is alerting the public to the removal of the old railroad tracks
over T.H. 197 near the intersection with 1st Street S.E. and Shevlin
Avenue in Bemidji on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
To get the
work done as quickly as possible, Mn/DOT will close the eastbound
traffic lanes on T.H. 197 on Monday as a railroad crew works to
remove the old tracks. On Tuesday, the crew will remove the tracks
in the northwest bound lanes.
On both days,
traffic on T.H. 197 will be merged to one lane in each direction.
Mn/DOT suggests
that drivers allow more time for delay or seek alternative routes
to ease congestion.
