Bemidji,
Minn—The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is announcing
that it has re-opened Trunk Highway 87 west of the junction with
Trunk Highway 64 and east of Hubbard County Highway 11 as of late
this afternoon. Mn/DOT had a 26 mile detour in place while a new
bridge was being constructed over the Crow Wing River in that location.
According to
Larry Randall, Mn/DOT Project Supervisor, "although the bridge is
being opened several weeks ahead of schedule, the public should
be aware that workers will still be in the area for a few more days,
and drivers are cautioned to slow down and obey posted speed advisories."
Mn/DOT would
like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation while
the new bridge was being constructed.
