St. Paul,
Minn—Bemidji, MN. - The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT)
is alerting motorists that Trunk Highway 310, north of Roseau, will
be closed beginning July 2nd until further notice to allow construction
to begin on the replacement of bridge #7112.
According to
J.T. Anderson, Mn/DOT Resident Engineer in the Thief River Falls
office, "construction was scheduled to begin on June 1st, but due
to high water in the area the project was delayed." Anderson added,
"our original plan was to build a temporary bypass at the site but
because of continued high water, we will have to close the road
completely until further notice."
Motorists are
being advised to find an alternative route until the temporary bypass
can be constructed at the site. Mn/DOT expects the project to be
completed in late September. Motorists are also asked to slow down
and obey all traffic signing instructions.
