Bemidji, Mn.
- The Northwest District of the Minnesota Department of Transportation
(Mn/DOT) is announcing it's construction program for this season
at just over $26 million, funding 25 various projects.
Included in
the program are five bridge replacements which will all require
detour routes. Bridges scheduled for replacement are over the Miller
and Wabanica Creeks on T.H. 172 in Lake of the Woods county, bridge
#7112 on T.H. 310 north of Roseau, bridge #5727 on T.H. 87 over
the Crow Wing River in Hubbard county, and bridge #3771 on T.H.
200 east of Ada.
Other projects
scheduled will consist of various types of work such as bituminous
resurfacing, mill and overlays, rout and sealing, bridge and culvert
repair and railroad crossing improvements.
In addition
to the bridge projects, detours will also be required for projects
on T.H. 1 from the Red Lake Reservation east boundary to the junction
of T.H. 72 ; T.H. 89 from Grygla to Fourtown; T.H. 75 and T.H. 175
in Hallock; T.H. 200 in Halstad; T.H. 1 and T.H. 59 in Thief River
Falls; and T.H. 200 from Zerkel to the Clearwater County Park.
The east bound
lanes of T.H. 2 between Fisher and Crookston, and the west bound
lanes of T.H. 2 from East Grand Forks to Fisher will be under construction
as well both the east and west bound lanes of the Bemidji bypass
on T.H. 2. These projects will also have lane restrictions.
Also getting
underway later in the summer will be Phase 1 of the reconstruction
of T.H. 197 and Old Midway Drive in Bemidji. This project will be
done in four phases with completion expected in 2004. A complete
listing of this year's projects are attached. Seperate news releases
will be done as each project nears it's starting date.
