RE-OPENS NORTH END OF TRUNK HIGHWAY 6 DETOUR NORTH OF TALMOON
Bemidji,
Mn. -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is announcing
that they have re-opened the north section of a thirty-seven mile
detour which has been in place to accommodate construction work
on T.H. 6 south of Bowstring to just north of Talmoon in Itasca
county.
The north section detour, which extended from Marcell on T.H. 38
to Itasca County Rd. 14 west to the junction with T.H. 6 was lifted
on Monday of this week.
Roger Bachman, MnDOT Project Supervisor cautioned, "the south end
of the detour remains in place and drivers are cautioned to slow
down and follow all signing instructions." The south end of the
detour extends from T.H. 6 north of Deer River, east on County Rd.
19, north and northeast on County Rd. 48 to Trunk Highway 38, north
on T.H. 38 to Marcell, then west on T.H. 286 to Talmoon.
Bachman added, "the work is expected to be completed by the end
of September and we appreciate the patience of motorists who are
traveling in this area."
