MN/DOT
WILL EXTEND DETOUR ON T.H. 6 NORTH OF TALMOON BEGINNING MONDAY,
JULY 31ST
Bemidji,
Mn. B The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is advising
motorists
who may be traveling north of Talmoon on T.H. 6 in Itasca County
that they will be required
to take an extended detour north on T.H. 38 from Marcell and then
west on County Road
14 north of Bigfork and back to T.H. 6 beginning Monday, July 31st.
T.H.
6 from Deer River to just north of Talmoon is under construction
and will be until the end
of September. According to Roger Bachmann, Mn/DOT Project Supervisor,
"the entire length
of the detour, which is approximately thirty-seven miles, will remain
in effect for at least two
weeks, pending weather and project conditions." Bachmann added,
"Mn/DOT
is keeping as
much of the road open as possible to accommodate local residents
and tourists, however, anyone
traveling in this area should slow down and obey all detour signing
instructions."
Mn/DOT
would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation
during this project
and would also like to remind drivers that anyone caught speeding
through a work zone will
be fined double under Minnesota law. Please, drive smart, drive
safe.
When
you see orange, remember, "we're in the work zone together."
