MN/DOT REMINDS HOLIDAY TRAVELERS TO PLAN AHEAD AND DRIVE SAFELYBemidji, Mn. C The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is reminding Memorial Day holiday travelers to plan ahead by allowing extra time to get to and from your destinations. Traffic will be heavy around the state as this week-end marks the beginning of summer vacations and Mn/DOT is asking motorists to be extremely alert when passing through construction zones. While most projects may be shut down at noon on Friday and resume on Tuesday morning, drivers need to be aware that traffic control and safety devices will still be in place and posted speed reductions will still be enforced. To find out more about construction project locations and detours: * Check the statewide listing of major highway projects in Mn/DOT=s Get-Around Guide. It is now available at Mn/DOT=s website at http://www.dot.state.mn.us/gag/index.shtml * Call the 24-hour statewide recorded road condition information at 651/405-6030 or toll free at 800/542-0220. For persons requiring tele-typewriter services (TTY) call 651/296-9930 or toll free at 800/657-3994. See ORANGE. We’re in the WORK ZONE Together |
