CONSTRUCTION ON T.H. 2 NEAR EAST GRAND FORKS IS UNDERWAYBemidji, Mn. C The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) is alerting the public to construction work on T.H. 2 near East Grand Forks which got underway Monday. According to J. T. Anderson, Mn/DOT Project Engineer, motorists can expect to encounter one-lane of traffic on the west bound lane of T.H. 2 just outside of East Grand Forks. Anderson added, Atraffic restricted to one lane on the west bound lanes will be in effect through Memorial Day week-end. After the week-end, motorists will find the east bound lanes on T.H. 2 shut down with two-way traffic on the west bound lanes.@ Anderson also cautioned that the speed limit in the construction zone has been reduced to 50 mph. The project is expected to be completed by the end of September. Mn/DOT would like to remind all motorists that under Minnesota law, anyone caught speeding through a construction zone will be fined double.
