Reconstruct Hwy 6 between Etna Ave. and 3rd Ave E., includes reconfigured design:
One-lane in each direction, a center turn-lane, side street parking on both sides and a grass boulevard along the sidewalk
Resurface (asphalt) from Hwy 6 to Etna Ave and 3rd Ave to Hwy 200
Improve or repair pedestrian sidewalks and road approaches
Update overhead street lighting
Replace or repair storm sewer, curb, gutter and ditch drainage
City water main work
Hwy 6 will be an active work zone through Remer in 2022. Follow construction signs when navigating through town. Plan to encounter flaggers, equipment, workers and closed off areas to work beneath the road or sidewalk.
Motorists: Road open, however, expect periodic lane closures, lane shifts, flaggers and changes to access. Oversize overweight restrictions, more to come once closer to construction.
Pedestrians: Sidewalks to be open on one side of the road as crews close and work on the other side. Watch for signs and expect changes.
Remer open: Access will be maintained and open to businesses, visitors and residents along Hwy 6, however expect changes like gravel surfaces and use of alternate accesses.
