I-35 bridge painting project

In St. Louis, Carlton and Pine Counties

Traffic impacts

  • The ramp from westbound Hwy 2 (Bong Bridge) to northbound I-35 will close Monday, September 24 and will remain closed for approximately 10 days.

Work on the project will continue seven-days-per-week / 24-hours-per-day in order to minimize traffic disruption and expedite completion.

    Signed detour route:
Go west on Highway 2 over I-35, take the ramp to southbound I-35, exit at the off-ramp to Central Avenue, then take the entrance ramp to northbound I-35.

  • Additional bridges will be painted as part of the project, which will be completed in summer 2019.
  • Not all bridges will be painted at the same time.

There is another project on I-35 in the Twin Cities Metro Area.
