Project Description

Hwy 53 will be expanded to four-lanes from Virginia to the south limits of Cook. It will be built in two stages with a total length of approximately 20 miles. The first stage from approximately County Road 307 to 0.25 miles south of County Road 652 (Goodell Road) was completed in 2009. Construction on the second stage is scheduled to begin in Oct. 2012.
