Single lane closures on Hwy 61 begin Tuesday, May 29 in Lake County
DULUTH, Minn. — A scheduled culvert replacement and resurfacing project begins Tuesday, May 29 on Hwy 61 in Lake County. Motorists will encounter single lane closures in each direction controlled by flagging operations or a temporary signal.
Single lane closures will initially occur in the Beaver Bay area. Additional closures will take place through late-June near the Lafayette Bluff Tunnel, and in the Gooseberry, Silver Bay, and Illgen City areas.
Motorists should be prepared to stop are asked to use caution when driving through the work areas.
Work on this project was originally scheduled to begin on Monday, May 21. The start date has been moved to Tuesday, May 29.
Once completed the project will improve drainage and result in a smoother ride quality.
