Orange barrels on a highway

County Road 138 and County Road 3 detours begin Sept. 9 in Carlton County

 

DULUTH, Minn. – Motorists traveling on County Road 138 and County Road 3 will encounter detours beginning on Sept. 9 and continuing through Oct. 18, as crews close and rehabilitate two bridges.

The bridge locations are the County Road 138 bridge over Interstate 35 near Barnum and the County Road 3 bridge over Interstate 35 near Cloquet.

County Road 13 will be used as the detour route while the County Road 138 bridge is closed.

Hwy 33 will be used as the detour route when the southbound lane of  County Road 3, (14th Street) bridge in Cloquet closes.

The I-35 bridge rehabilitation project will extend the life of the bridge and improve motorist safety.
