Pat Huston selected as assistant district operations engineer for MnDOT District 1

DULUTH, Minn. — Pat Huston, P.E., has been selected to serve as assistant district engineer for operations for the Minnesota Department of Transportation District One, which encompasses eight counties in northeastern Minnesota.

Duane Hill, previously served as assistant district engineer for operations until March 2012 when he was promoted to District One as district engineer.

“Pat will oversee roadway, bridge and facility maintenance along with fleet management and traffic engineering for northeastern Minnesota,” said Duane Hill. “This is a very important role for MnDOT District One and provides important services that directly impact the citizens of this region.”

Huston has served in various roles during the past 23 years including; soils engineer, design engineer, project manager, construction project engineer, district bridge engineer; and resident construction engineer.
Huston earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Minnesota and is a licensed professional civil engineer in Minnesota.

District 1 maintains 1,600 miles of highway and more than 600 bridges.
