Hwy 123 bridge rehabilitation project begins June 19 south of Sandstone


DULUTH, Minn. – Motorists traveling on Hwy 123 at the Kettle River, south of Sandstone will be restricted to a single lane beginning Wednesday, June 19, when a bridge rehabilitation project begins.

A temporary signal system will be in place to direct motorists to take turns crossing the bridge. The single-lane traffic configuration will remain in place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily until the project is finished in late-August. There will be no lane restrictions between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m.

This scheduled maintenance project will extend the life of the bridge.
