Jay Cooke State Park headquarters and campground reopen
Visitors must enter using western entrance from Thomson
DULUTH, Minn. —Visitors to Jay Cooke State Park headquarters and campground must enter the recently reopened park using the western entrance from Thomson, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Motorists should expect possible road construction activities that involve flagging operations on Hwy 210 between Thomson and the park headquarters as ongoing Hwy repairs are made.
The Hwy 210 park entrance through Carlton remains closed as work on the Thomson Bridge and new bridge continues. Work on both bridges is expected to be complete in late November.
Directions to Jay Cooke State Park:
- Motorists traveling north on Interstate 35—Exit I-35 at Exit 242 (Thomson/Esko), turn right (south) on County Road 1, stay on County Road 1 for four miles until reaching Hwy 210, turn left on Hwy 210 to enter the park.
- Motorists traveling south on I-35—Exit I-35 at Exit 245, turn right on County Road 61 and travel four miles until reaching Hwy 1 in Esko. Turn left and take Hwy 1 south for five miles until reaching Hwy 210, turn left on Hwy 210 to enter the park.
