Hwy 169 reconstruction project in St. Louis County begins Sept. 19
DULUTH, Minn. —Motorists traveling on Hwy 169 south of Lake Vermilion, near the Pike River Bridge in St. Louis County, will encounter traffic restrictions beginning Wednesday, Sept. 19, when crews begin a Hwy reconstruction project. The project is scheduled to be completed in July 2013.
Motorists should expect short, intermittent, full-closures lasting no longer than 15 minutes.
Motorists will be directed by flaggers when traffic is restricted to a single lane.
Project improvements include:
- Eight-foot-wide shoulders
- Turning lanes
- Flattened hills
- Straighter curves
- Improved ditching and drainage
