DULUTH, Minn. —

 

What: Southbound Hwy 61/London Road to close for flood-related culvert, road repairs.

When: Wednesday, Aug. 8 to late-August 2012

Where: Hwy 61/London Road in Duluth

Detour:

Southbound Hwy 61/London Road

Motorists on the southbound Hwy 61 expressway will be detoured onto Superior Street to 54th Avenue East and then back onto Hwy 61/London Road.
Northbound Hwy 61/London Road
Motorists traveling north on Hwy 61/London Road will not be detoured, however they will encounter a few traffic shifts within the construction area.

 

Why: A large culvert beneath Hwy 61/London Road was heavily damaged during the June 19, 20 storm and the road adjacent to it was undermined.
