Traffic shifts to the west side lanes of Hwy 169 in Grand Rapids June 27
DULUTH, Minn. — Motorists on Hwy 169 in Grand Rapids will use the west-side lanes beginning late Wednesday, June 27, as work continues on a Hwy reconstruction project encompassing nine blocks of Hwy 169/Pokegama Avenue.
The east-side lanes of Hwy 169 will close and construction will continue until fall 2012.
Most construction work near the southern business section of the project will occur during nighttime hours. All businesses are accessible during construction.
This project will completely reconstruct the roadway. A new center turn lane will separate through-traffic from turning traffic. This safety improvement reduces rear-end collisions and improves traffic flow.
