I-35 bridge maintenance, repair project begins August 1 south of Duluth

DULUTH, Minn. —A bridge maintenance and repair project begins at 6 a.m., Monday, August 1 on Interstate 35 near County Road 13 (Midway Road) south of Duluth. The project includes bridge deck resurfacing, painting and railing repairs on four bridges. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-October 2011.

Traffic will be restricted to a single lane in each direction until the project is completed. A reduced speed limit will also be in effect.

Motorists should expect traffic delays during peak periods and are asked to be patient and drive carefully near the work zone areas.

The completed project will help prolong the bridges’ serviceability and will provide a smoother, safer driving surface.

PCI Roads, LLC is the contractor for this $1,764,761 project.
