Second Avenue West ramp in Duluth to close Oct. 24
DULUTH, Minn. — The Second Avenue West ramp in Duluth will close at Mesaba Avenue Monday, Oct. 24, between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., as crews conduct a final, pre-winter test of a new anti-icing system.
Motorists may use West Seventh Street or North Fourth Avenue West as alternate routes into downtown Duluth.
Road anti-icing systems are controlled by weather stations equipped with sensors and thermometers. Spray heads embedded in the road surface spray anti-icing solution on the road to help prevent ice from forming.
