I-35 traffic changes, detour scheduled in Duluth beginning Aug. 27
DULUTH, Minn. — Motorists traveling in the I-35 Mega Project work zone in Duluth will encounter several traffic changes beginning Saturday, Aug. 27.
Saturday, Aug. 27
The southbound I-35 on-ramp and off-ramp at 40th Avenue West will open.
The southbound I-35 ramp to eastbound Hwy 2 (Bong Bridge) will open.
Monday, Aug. 29
The northbound I-35 off-ramp at 40th Avenue West will close.
The southbound I-35 on-ramp at 27th Avenue West will close.
Monday, Aug. 29, 11 p.m. to Tuesday, Aug. 30, 5 a.m.
Southbound I-35 traffic will be diverted off the freeway at 27th Avenue West, then south on Michigan Street, south on Grand Avenue, east on 46th Avenue West and back to southbound I-35. This detour is necessary as crews place beams for a new bridge on I-35 near the Ore Docks.
Northbound traffic will not be affected.
Tuesday, Aug. 30
The southbound I-35 off-ramp at 27th Avenue West will close.
