Southbound Hwy 53 ramps to close Aug. 11 in Duluth
DULUTH, Minn. — The southbound Hwy 53/Piedmont Avenue ramps to I-535/Blatnik Bridge and to northbound Interstate 35 will close early Thursday morning, Aug. 11, for ramp resurfacing.
The ramps will remain closed for about two weeks, and motorists should expect delays.
Traffic will be detoured from southbound Hwy 53 to 21st Avenue West, First Street and then Garfield Avenue.
Motorists may also use Mesaba Avenue or the Bong Bridge as alternate routes.
This ramp repair project will provide a smoother driving surface for motorists and will help extend the life of the ramps.
