Permit Processing
Applications sent to the Transportation Permits Section after normal business hours will be processed the next business day.
Permit applications that require specialized handling may take from two to five business days to process, depending on complexity.
Examples include, but are not limited to:
- - Route requiring the use of a number of county roads.
- - Loads higher than 15'6"
- - Loads wider than 16' or that extend over roadway centerline
- - Loads longer than 103' and having a single pivot point
- - Loads heavier than Category C axle group weight limits
Construction Impacts
Mn/DOT may need to alter your route due to construction or load dimensions.
Issuing Restrictions
Because highway construction dates change quickly, no move dates may be more than seven days from the date of issue.
