MnDOT GIS Standards
All MnDOT GIS data must be supplied in:
- UTM coordinates
- Zone 15E extended
- NAD83
- GRS80
- horizontal units = meters
- vertical units (if used) = feet.
If you download background data from the DNR Data Deli (http://deli.dnr.state.mn.us/) or the MnDOT GIS basemap web site (http://www.dot.state.mn.us/maps/gisbase/html/datafiles.html) they will meet this standard.
GIS data must be in ArcView shapefiles. No other formats will be accepted. Pre-defined, but empty, shapefiles can be provided upon request to facilitate data creation.
