About the project

The project will construct a four-lane bridge to replace the existing functionally obsolete two-lane bridge. This will eliminate the bottleneck caused by having four-lane roadways to the north and south of Hastings. The project also includes walls, grading, roadways, utility and storm sewer work as necessary for alignment tie-ins. It will provide a 100-year design-life crossing and a continuous four-lane highway through Hastings and across the Mississippi River.
